Radioshift 1.5 constitutes a major update to our internet radio recorder, and we want to make sure you know about the most important changes. Read this page to learn more!
Support for Thousands of New Streams
Many stations can only be heard in their own custom web-based players. However, with Radioshift 1.5, you'll be able to hear and record these streams, right inside of Radioshift! That means you'll be able to listen to thousands of additional streams, including some of the most popular stations in the world.
Easy Updates From the "Install Players" Window
Radioshift provides support for many different types of audio streams, all in one application. To hear the maximum number of streams, however, you may need to install additional software. We've worked to make this easier than ever. Check the "Install Players" window under the Radioshift menu, and with a single click the latest players will be installed. Now you'll be able to hear more streams than ever!
Improved Playback
In addition to support for web players, Radioshift 1.5 also improves playback in several other ways. Both Windows Media Pro and QuickTime streams will work better, across the board. And when Radioshift detects a stream having problems, it will now restart, and even try back up streams when available! Radioshift is working harder than ever to make sure you get your audio.
Airfoil Support
Lots of Radioshift users also use our Airfoil application, to send audio around their house. We've made Airfoil and Radioshift work much better together, so you can simply set Radioshift as the source in Airfoil, and go from there. Airfoil takes care of everything else, and your Radioshift audio will stream anywhere you like.
We've adjusted Radioshift's interface in small but important ways. Most importantly, the playback toolbar is now always visible. As well, we've put in more pleasing visual elements, and tightened things up across the board. These small changes add up to a better experience for you.
Crash-Proofing and Bug Fixes
While we can't guarantee it won't ever crash, Radioshift is no longer directly affected by crashes or hangs in its audio playback engines (Flip4Mac, QuickTime and RealPlayer). We've also fixed dozens of bugs, both big and small, so you've got the best, most reliable version of Radioshift ever made.
